Ramokgopa : Load-shedding expected to ease by midweek

South Africa's electricity minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, has announced that load-shedding stages are expected to ease during the week as more generation units return to service.
The country experienced a surge in load-shedding due to boiler tube leaks, which took nine generating units offline at the end of the week. Eskom management is working directly with the original equipment manufacturers to address the issue.
By Tuesday, load-shedding is expected to return to levels 4, 3, 2, and 1, and periodically not have load-shedding.
Ramokgopa said that a cautious approach is being taken to return affected units to the grid, emphasizing the importance of doing everything right, even if the intensity of load-shedding will be above the summer plan.
